Document Description
The proejct will fund the development and demonstration of a medium-duty truck with a "downsized" engine optimized for E-85 fuel and a hybrid drive system. The development will take place in columbus, IN, while the field demonstration will take place in California in partnership with Kenworth Truck Company and Palomar Mountain Spring Water LLC. This new tupe of low-carbon powertrain will benefit the public by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and particulate matter emissions, reducing dependence on petroleum fuels, and demonstrating the effectiveness of alternative fuels and renewable energy.
