Reasons for Exemption
This project is considered to be Categorically Exempt based on a Class 1 CEQA exemption which allows the minor alteration of existing public or private structures provided that no more than 50% of the floor area of the structure prior to the change, or 2,500 sf, which ever is less, is added to the existing use. Class 5 consists of minor alterations in land use limitations in areas with an average slope of less than 20%, which do not result in any changes in land use or density, including but not limited to: (a) Minor lot line adjustments, side yard, and set back variance not resulting in the creation of any new parcel.
