Document Description
The project includes the removal of non-native and invasive plant species and revegetation with native plant species. Approximately 16,000 linear feet (4.9 acres) of giant reed (Arundo donax) and 200 linear feet (0.05 acres) of tree-of-heaven (Ailanthus altissima) will be removed. Methods include use of hand tools and herbicide treatments using backpack sprayers. Eradication of invasives will require a minimum of two seasons of treatment before revegetation with native plant species can be fully established. Revegetation will occur once infestation is eradicated by 90% or more. No existing native riparian tres will be removed. SAA# 1600-2011-0054-3.
