Document Description
Routine sediment removal activities within 3 Ponds thereby returning the ponds to design grade (approximate depth of 5 feet). The subject site is located within the 100-year flood zone; all three ponds are "in-line" with the natural unnamed tributary to San Marcos Creek. Ponds 1-3 have experienced sedimentation as a result of upstream residential/commercial development. As a result of sediment buildup, flooding occurs throughout the subject site. The goal of removing the sediment in these ponds is to return lost flood capacity to the ponds and to eliminate odors emanating from algal blooms as a result of the shallow pond depths and excess nutrient input.
