Document Description
A temporary emergency Hazardous Waste Permit has been granted to Nieto and Sons Trucking (Nieto) to store hazardous waste beyond the ten days provided in Title 22, California Code of Regulations Section 66263.18. The hazardous waste to be stored is approximately 350 gallons of used oil and water, contaminated with polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), contained in a tanker truck. The waste was generated when an underground waste oil storage tank was cleaned and rinsed. Upon finding that the waste was contaminated with PCBs, the disposal facility rejected the load. The ten-day limit for stoarge of a hazardous waste will expire before transportation to an offsite disposal facility that will accept the load can be arranged.
