Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife is executing Lake or Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2013-0101-R2, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project applicant, Sutter Butte Flood Control Agency. Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) must manage a total of 24 PG&E gas and electric utility relocations that conflict with the proposed improvement of the Feather River West Levee. These utilities occur within Reaches 13 through 25 of the Feather River West Levee Contract C. of these utilities, 18 occur in the stream zone (the area from the levee centerline toward Feather River) and require ground disturbance. The remaining utilities either do not occur in the stream zone or do not require ground disturbing work (e.g., lowering existing conductors). No work would occur within waters. All but one of the relocations is to move individual electric transmission or distribution utility poles that conflict with the levee construction or right-of-way. Typical work for electric transmission and distribution consists of temporarily de-energizing facilities, with subsequent removal and relocation of the utility poles to accommodate work on the levee.
