Document Description
The proposed project is a Use Permit to construct a 197-foot tall temporary Met Tower. The Met Tower will collect data that can be used with data from a regional reference station to characterize the long-term wind resource. The tower is temporary and will be decommissioned and removed from the project site within three years. The entire length of the Met Tower will be painted in seven alternating bands of orange and white. The applicant also proposes to install a total of eight orange marker balls and will install a seven-foot safety sleeve at the anchor point of each guy wire connection. Additionally, the applicant has proposed to install a single red flashing light at the top of the tower. The applicant has proposed to install bird flight diverters on the guy wires to minimize the impact of bird strikes with the guy wires.
