The subject property was previously developed as the Camp Joan Mier recreational center/children's camp (medically supervised). Special Use permit 838 was granted by the Board of Supervisors on Jan. 6, 1959, construction of the camp structures began in 1964, and records indicate that the use permit (later modified to a Conditional Use Permit) expired on Sept 21, 1999.Currently there are four remaining camp-related buildings.
