Document Description
Site Development Permit to allow for the installation of approximately 2,058 linear feet of new 8, 15 and 36-inch sewer pipe. The project would install 797 LF of sewer pipe through open trenching, 1,261 LF would be installed through tunneling, 239 LF of rehabilitation, and approximately 2,477 LF of existing trunk sewer would be abandoned. Five launch, receiver, and/or work pits ranging in size between 225 and 400 sq. ft. would be used for tunneling and/or manhole-related work. Off-street and on-street staging is being proposed. Existing access paths would primarily be used for the installation and abandonment. Eleven manholes would be removed in vegetated areas each resulting in an approximate 5-foot radius of temporary disturbance. Where additional access is needed, a 10-foot wide temporary access path is proposed and steel plates would be used if needed for construction equipment to cross the drainages. In addition, for more difficult access areas, a crane or hand carried equipment may be employed. The tunneling would occur in two separate locations, south of I-8 near SDSU and on the north side of I-8 next to Alvarado Creek and sensitive habitat.
