Document Description
A trailhead entrance and parking will be constructed on the corner of Friant Road and Flemming Road in the town of Friant, California, on land owned by the State of California. A paved universal accessible trail and a stairway will traverse the bluff and continue through the west edge of the San Joaquin Hatchery grounds, bridging the effluent hatchery water outfall and connecting to the San Joaquin Parkway Trail at Lost Lake Park Recreation Area. A controlling gate will be installed at the ingress to the parking lot to allow vehicle access from early morning to evening and will preclude access during the night. Night lighting will be installed for security, but no overnight use or camping will be allowed. This is a public access, education and outreach project, providing a unique educational destination along the Parkway trail. The parking lot and associated trailhead facilities occupy approximately 2 acres, and the trail is approximately 1 mile in length and will be approximately 12 feet in width.
