Document Description
The proposed project would replace the existing 36-inch diameter raw water pipeline from Sweetwater Dam to its junction with a newer 36-inch pipeline located 630 feet downstream. The replacement 36-inch diameter steel pipeline would be fabricated offsite in 20-foot long sections and transported to the project site for assembly. Between Sweetwater Dam and the "stilling pond dam", approximately 400 feet of existing pipeline would be excavated and replaced in the same alignment. Within this section, permanent access along the replacement pipeline would be widened to 20 feet to allow for periodic maintenance and monitoring. Farther west, the remaining 230 feet of existing pipeline would be filled with lean concrete, and replacement pipeline sections would be secured to the top of that structure. The project also includes rehabilitation of a 32-foot section of pipe within the dam, although the section would be lined internally so would not involve any modifications to Sweetwater Dam.
