The project, located on a 1000-acre parcel of State land within the Tehama State Wildlife Area, involves the use of the property for the purpose of providing training exercises for CAL FIRE crews from the Northern Region. The total area encompassing the project activities is approximately 320 acres. The only ground disturbing activities will be within portions of a 7-acre area of fireline construction consisting of cutting brush and scraping to bare mineral soil 6 feet in width. The larger 320 acre area will be used onl for the purposes of hiking, fire shelter deployment and tool up and parking areas.
