Document Description
The project will fund a demonstration test of the Chevrolet Volt plug-in electric vehicle usage grid interaction, and driver behavior under real-world conditions. The project will also fund installation of electric vehicle charging infrastructure at public garages and parking lots throughout the Sacramento area. These chargers are small and any trenching to install them will restore the land to its original condition. The project benefits the public by demonstrating the cost-effectiveness and feasibility of alternative and renewable vehicle technology, thereby reducing reliance on petroleum fuels and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
