Document Description
Drilling of a casing hammer test well to sample groundwater quality and quantity to see if a municipal well can be constructed at the site with or without water treatment. The test well will be destroyed after testing is completed. If water quality and quantity are within acceptable limits, a separate environmental document will be prepared in the future for the well and site improvements. The well and improvements, if constructed, will benefit the Monterey Park Tract Community Services District.

Reasons for Exemption
A temporary 8" diameter steel casing will be installed using a casing hammer drilling rig that utilizes high pressure air. Only a very minor amount of surface disturbance will occur, mainly when the top 5' of casing is exposed, cut off, the rest of the casing filled and the hole backfilled. The site will be graded to match the grading that existed prior drilling.
