Document Description
Currently, a moving-screen type trashrake debris removal system is used to capture debris prior to the entrance of the Mojave Siphon penstocks, which leads to the Mojove Siphon Power Plant. The moving-screen system includes a driven chain and sprocket with spaced-out car/finger assemblies that are integrated within the interstitial spaces of the trashracks. Due to the high volume of aquatic weeds, the current system has been insufficient to remove the debris. Damages to the removal system, predominantly the chains, have occurred frequently and mandated outages for repair work. The trashrack and trashrake replacement project for the site will include a new trashraking system and trashracks to replace the existing system at three of the four bays located at the check structure. The fourth bay has been decommissioned and will not be in this project.
