Document Description
Metropolitan proposes to enter into a 30-year license agreement (plus options to extend the term for two additional 10 year terms for a total of 50 years) with Desert Sunlight Holdings (project applicant) that would allow the applicant to enter upon and use-certain desert land owned by The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (Metropolitan) near the Eagle Mountain Pumping Plant. The project applicant proposes to construct and operate a 550-megawatt solar photovoltaic energy generating facility known as the Desert Sunlight Solar Farm largely adjacent to Metropolitan's property. The Project facilities would require the use of approximately 10 acres of Metropolitan-owned property, including use of an existing access road and a crossing of Metropolitan's transmission line right-of-way. Project facilities would be comprised of generation facilities, an onsite substation, an overhead generation interconnection line to the point of transmission interconnection, and access roads. The project site encompasses about 4,200 acres of land located principally on federal land managed by the Bureau of Land Management.
