Document Description
The Project will upgrade the WWTP to comply with the regulatory requirements of the County's National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit and a Cease and Desist Order. The Project involves: 1)constructing a new septage receiving station, a headworks, two circular primary clarifiers, two secondary clarfiers, two aeration basins with anoxic zones, fine bubble seration diffusers, centrifugal blowers, and recycle pumps; 2) upgrading solids handling facilities, including the sludge thickeners, anaerobic disgesters, and sludge dewater system; 3) upgrading the tertiary treatment facilities; 4) installing an ultraviolet disinfection system; 5) upgrading a supervisory control and data acquisition system, condults, pipes, and a non-potable water supply system; 6) adding a new security system; 7) modifying a drainage system; 8) constructing a chemical feed building, storage facilities, an operations control building, a modern analytical laboratory and a safety training facility; 9) converting buildings into maintenance and storage facilities; 10) conducting site work; 11) installing stream monitoring equipment and sensors in Dry and Rock Creeks; 12) constructing a new primary outfall in Rock Creek; and 13) removing a secondary outfall and an abandoned concrete pipe.
