Caltrans and the FHWA, in cooperation with the Sacramento Transportation Authority (STA), propose to add bus/carpool lanes on Interstate 5 (I-5) in Sacramento County from 1.1 miles south of Elk Grove Blvd. to United State (US) Highway 50 (post mile (PM) 9.7 to 22.5). The total length of the project is ~12.8 miles. New sound walls may be required in two locations, and the existing Casilada Pedestrian Overcrossing (POC) will be replaced in order to meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990.
