The project will install Photovoltaic (PV) solar panels on two buildings at the Caltrans Transportation Lab at 5900 Folsom Blvd. in Sacramento, CA. The purpose is to comply with A.B. 32 and Governor's Executive Order S-20-04, which calls for all state-owned buildings to reduce their grid-based energy consumption by 20% by the year 2015 (use 2003 as a base year) and use clean, renewable energy. Project will have minimal environmental impacts and will employ avoidance and minimization measures.
