Document Description
Berry proposes to drill 14 new O&G wells in Midway-Sunset Oil Field. The project activity(s) being permitted by the Geologic Energy Management Division (CalGEM) is within the scope of the Diatomite & North Midway Sunset Development IS MND. The approved project, disclosed in the 2011 MND document, consists of drilling 818 Diatomite wells and 449 non-diatomite wells; 586 wells have been drilled since the 2011 MND. Therefore, the proposed 14 new wells are within the scope of the previous environmental document.
The surrounding land use within three miles of this project consists of densely developed oil and gas fields.
CalGEM, as the CEQA Responsible Agency, approved permit(s)for DOGGR (CalGEM) to drill the wells listed below, in the Midway-Sunset Oil Field of Kern County.
