Document Description
KDWD developed the Kern River Allocation Plan which outlines KDWD's proposed operational changes to optimize the use of water available to KDWD, provide operational flexibility, and maximize the beneficial use of its Kern River water entitlement. By implementing the proposed operational changes under the Plan, KDWD's full Kern River water entitlement. By implementing the proposed operational changes under the Plan, KDWD's full Kern River water entitlement would be diverted and utilized by KDWD, eliminating historic release water to North Kern Water Storage District, City of Bakersfield, and others. An EIR and a SEIR were prepared to assess and evaluate potential impacts of the implementation of the Plan on areas north and south of the Kern River potentially adversely affected by the elimination of the release water.
