The project consists of the approval of a Remedial Action Plan (RAP) for the Mobile Smelting Site pursuant to regulatory authority granted under Chapter 6.8, Division 20 of the California Health and Safety Code. The RAP describes the remedial activities to be conducted at Operable Units 1 and 2 of the Mobile Smelting Site. The purpose of the remedial activities is to reduce or eliminate human and ecological risks associated with Site soils by consolidating and capping ~38,000 cubic yards of metal and dioxin impacted shallow soil at Operable Units 1 and 2 of the Site.
