- Document Description
- The City of Los Angeles owns and operates the Hyperion Treatment Plant (HTP), which treats wastewater and biosolids, at 12000 Vista del Mar in Playa del Rey. Currently, HTP pipes its digester gas (digas), produced during anaerobic digestion of biosolids, to an adjacent electric power plant (Scattergood Generation Station). The power plant combusts the digas with natural gas to generate electricty for the City's power grid power grid and to provide HTP with steam for plant use. Export of digas to the Scattergood plant must end by January 15, 2015. The proposed project construct a cogeneration plant within HTP.
