In an attempt to be competitive with surrounding large-scale hotel projects, the San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina proposes to convert a previous restaurant (formerly LC's Restaurant) into a full-service spa facility which would be utilized primarily by hotel guests. The size of the new spa facility, which would be located on the ground floor of the existing north tower, is approximately 5,500 square feet, and would consist of the following program requirements: reception area with check-in desk, lounge seating, and a retail component; nail and hair salon which would include stations for styling, shampooing, manicures and pedicures; therapy area which includes up to six standard treatment rooms, one couples' treatment room, and a co-ed relaxation lounge; men's and women's locker rooms which would include locker area for changing, vanity/grooming area, restrooms, steam rooms and houskeeping/janitor closets; and support spaces which would include linen dispensary, soiled linen, storage areas, and back-of-house areas.
