- The East Bay Regional Park District (the "District") currently manages 65 regional parks, shorelines, recreation and wilderness areas, preserves, and other land bank areas which encompass over 108,000 acres in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. The District has determined that a number of activities, subject to Fish and Game Code Section 1601, are considered "routine maintenance activities" and would fall under the definition of exempt activities. These "routine maintenance activities" will be conducted in accordance with all provisions described in teh Memorandum of Understanding between District and the California Department of Fish and Game. Furthermore, the District is obtaining authorization from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Regional Water Quality Control Boards (Regions 2 and 5) to perform various maintenance activities in and adjacent to water systems located throughout the East Bay Regional Parks, in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties.
