Document Description
Improve Sequoia Trail and Skyline to Sea Trail at Big Basin Redwoods State Park to reduce resource impacts. Sequoia Trail: Construct approximately 160 linear foot (ft) by 4 ft wide trail section to re-route a portion of the Sequoia Trail. Shape and compact trail tread and cap tread surface with class 2 base rock to harden the tread. Remove portions of an exposed 4 inch diameter waterline no longer in use sited near the trail. Install a trail directional sign at the trailhead. Decommission approximately 195 linear feet of existing unsustainable trail. Skyline to Sea Trail: Construct an approximately 1,760 linear ft long, 3 ft wide trail section to re-route a portion of the Skyline to Sea Trail. Shape and compact trail head. Install up to 6 log retainers pinned in place with rebar along the new trail section.
