Document Description
This is a forest and watershed improvement project. The Lassen county Fire Safe Council is requesting $142,082 in funding from the Sierra Nevada Conservancy's Grant Program for site improvement/restoration activities on approximately 625 acres (a portion of two parcels totaling approximately 1.178 acres) of private land consisting of wet meadow and sagebrush steppe habitat. The purpose of this project is to restore watershed functions (capture, storage of water in soil, and beneficial release) within the South Ash Valley Watershed at the headwaters of Ash Creek, a tributary of the Pit River.
