Document Description
Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART) is currently evaluating options for rehabilitation or replacement of existing rail bridges over the Gallinas Creek, Petaluma River, and Russian River as part of a plan to provide passenger rail service between Cloverdale and Larkspur. The project consists of geotechnical surveys (vertical borings) to support engineering and design of bridge structures. The borings will be completed using either a drill rig mounted on the exisitng railroad tracks or a floating barge. A total of 15 borings will be completed: Sven at Gallinas Creek and Russian River and one at Petaluma River.
