Document Description
Department of Toxic Substances Control has issued an Emergency Permit to U.S. Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms (MCAGCC) to treat hazardous waste by open detonation. The items to be treated are military munitions, such as projectiles, cartridges, fuzes, grenades, signals, flares, and small arms ammunition. The net explosive weight when totaled for all the items is approximately five pounds. The items were picked up from the Riverside County Bomb Squad. They had confiscated over the previous six months from various raids and seizures. MCAGCC Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) personnel have determined that the items are considered unsafe for shipment or indefinite storage.
