Document Description
The project is limited to replacement of an existing 50-foot CMP culvert and a 185-linear-foot earthen drainage channel with a new drainage culvert. Installation of the new culvert will allow widening of the road shoulder and installation of new safety features, including a sidewalk, curb, gutter, and sidewalk ramps. Two 30-inch steel ribbed HDPE culverts will be installed beneath Buena Vista Avenue to replace the existing culvert, and 42-inch pre-cast concrete or HDPE drainage culvert will be installed to replace the existing drainage channel. The drainage feature will be fully enclosed within the culvert following construction. A new headwall will be installed at the upstream end of the culvert in the northwest quadrant of the intersection on the west side of Buena Vista Avenue. The California Department of Fish and Game is executing Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement Number 1600-2011-0071-3 pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, the City of Walnut Creek.
