The proposed Project is intended to provide supplemental potable water for MCWD, and would include drilling a new drinking water well on a 0.9 acre site. Malaga Well No. 8 would be constructed in 2011 to augment District water supplies and to provide redundancy in the water supply system. The facilities at the well site include the well and pump, a covered enclosure for the motor control center and controls, chlorination facilities and a 15,000 gallon hydropneumatic tank. Operation of the well pump would be located at South maple Avenue in the southern portion of the community of Malaga, and the hyrdopneumatic tank outlet would be connected to an existing 10-inch water main in South maple Avenue.
