Document Description
SLWD would become a Project Participant in Phase 1 of the Cadiz Project via a Water Purchase and Sale Agreement. Up to 10,000 afy of water would be transferred to SLWD via a water exchange with MWD using existing infrastructure; no new facilities, construction or changes in operations would occur. SMWD approved Phase 1 of the Project, which would pump an average of 50,000 AFY of water from a groundwater basin in San Bernardino County. SLWD considered the EIR for the Cadiz Project as prepared and certified by the lead agency, SMWD. The EIR addendum evaluated SMWD's water purchase and found no new significant environmental impacts or changes.
