Document Description
The project will consist of the demolition of three older existing classroom wings, comprising approximately 17,186 square feet, and removal of four portables, with an additional 4,000 square feet, that presently provide 28 classrooms for 558 students. The 21,186 square feet would be replaced with two new earthquake-resistent classroom buildings with 36,500 square feet and 38 classrooms to accommodate 832 students in grades 6 through 8. An additional nine parking spaces would be installed within a parking area that will facilitate drop-off/pick-up traffic using existing driveways on Niles Avenue. Serveral aged trees would be removed from the western part of the site and the current landscaping would be replaced with new landscaping that will be more water effecient and fire resistant.
