Document Description
The City of Vacaville is preparing a comprehensive update to its existing General Plan. The update is expected to be completed in 2012 and will guide the City's development and conservation for the next 20 years. The project also includes a preparation of a Climate Action Plan (CAP). The CAP will be a separate document that sets targets and establishes measures to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in Vacaville. The updated General Plan will include all State-required elements and some optional elements, including the following: Land Use; Transportation; Conservation and Open Space; Parks and Recreation; Public Facilities, Institutions, and Utilities Element; Safety; and Noise. The Housing Element was recently updated and adopted by the City Council on April 27, 2010, and will not be included as part of the General Plan Update.
