Document Description
The Central Basin Municipal Water District is preparing a Draft Program EIR to evaluate the potential environmental effects of implementing a Groundwater Storage Plan (Plan) to improve water reliability throughout the Central Groundwater Basin. The proposed Plan would acquire water through various supply and demand management options and subsequently store the water in underground aquifers within the Basin that are currently under-utilized. Potential sources of water currently under consideration may include but are not be limited to: supply offsets through conservation, recycled water, irrigation return flow credits, gray water, stormwater capture, desalinization, imported water and remediation and reuse of contaminated groundwater.
