Note: Refer to Revised EIR received 08/19/2011 Zone changes to incorporate the Wind Energy (WE) Combining District on portions of the 6,739-acre project site to allow the construction of up to 134 wind turbines and 150 PV solar system blocks which would generate up to 350 megawatts of electricity and to permit the construction of ancillary facilities and supporting infrastructure and the concrete batch plants are necessary to provide concrete and materials for turbine, system block, substation, and building foundations. The application also proposes to incorporate flood hazard zoning for areas subject to flooding. Access to the project is provided by Backus Road, which is a paved public roads. Once onsite, there is an existing network of unpaved roads that allow for access throughout the site. The project will also include the construction of 14 miles of 230-kV overhead transmission corridor, which would generally be aligned from the northeast to the southwest where it ultimately would connect to the SCE Whirlwind Substation.
