Document Description
The proposed program is a multi objective flow management and water supply program. The primary objective of the program is to allow additional quantities of water awarded to the City by the SWRCB to flow in the Kern River channel to protect, increase, and enhance the City's water supply to meet present and future demands for water. Increased flows in the Kern River would also increase infiltration and percolation to the basin, to serve as a long term water supply and source for City residents. The program calls for the utilization of an, as of yet, undetermined quantity of a new water supply to increase flows in the Kern River. Up to an average of approximately 160,000 afy of water (as available on hydrologic conditions) may be provided to the Kern River.
