Document Description
The project will fund the demonstration of a forestry biomass to biomethane fuel process using existing feedstock in Placer County. The demonstration unit will be built on a mobile skid that is moved throughout the County to test feedstocks and refine the process. Resulting CNG will be stored at existing transportation yards and used in existing CNG vehicles. The project benefits the federal government by disposing of hazardous existing forestry waste, and the public by demonstrating the cost-effectiveness and feasibility of alternative and renewable vehicle technology, thereby reducing reliance on petroleum fuels and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
