Document Description
The project proponent, the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACER), proposes to * remove sediment that has accumulated behind Carbon Canyon Dam, to enable the facility to operate closer to its optimal and designed flood control capacity; and, * to implement channel erosion protection measures on Carbon Canyon Creek. Approximately 200,000 cubic yards of sediment and overlying vegetation are proposed to be removed in an area covering 30 acres. Excavated sediment will be temporarily placed outside of waters of the United States and later removed to a Class 3 landfill or placed on USACE property outside of Waters of the US.
