Document Description
The project proposal in the environmental document includes the non-contiguous expansion of the existing approximately 7-acre cement compost pad by approximately 5.5 acres to the west of the existing composting operations onto Module 9 of the WRLF. In addition to the expansion of the compost pad, an additional 2 acres will be used for a second material screening and stockpiling area and 1-acre area will be used for a compost leachate collection and storage pond. The total proposed project 'footprint' analyzed in the Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND) is approximately 8.5 acres. However, the 'project area' that is proposed for approval also includes 4.2-acres of land that surrounds the 8.5 acres 'project footprint'/ The 4.2 acres include road access to the new compost pad, the new screening and stockpile area, and the leachate collection and storage pond located on the WRLF.
