Document Description
The project is located adjacent to the east City limit of the City of Dorris, Siskiyou County, CA. It consists of connecting to an existing 10" diameter water main just North of State Highway 97 and extending it southerly to the South side of State Route 97. Construction will be primarily within the roadway and consist of sawcutting the existing asphalt concrete surface and excavating a trench approximately 3 feet in width and 4' in depth across the highway. The 10" diameter pvc water main will then be placed in the trench and backfilled. Backfilled will consist of Caltrans Standard 1 sack slurry up to three inches below finish grade with 3" of asphalt concrete to bring the trench back to finish grade. There new water main will require new concrete thrust blocks restraints at new ell and tee locations. Excavations for these thrust blocks will be somewhat sorted and disposed of offsite. Native material will be disposed of on City property and asphalt concrete material will be properly disposed of offsite at a suitable location according to the laws and regulations of the State of California.
