Document Description
The applicant is proposing a new 4,406 sq ft. 2-story single-family residence with an attached 406 sq ft. 2-car garage and a 383 sq ft mechanical room, located below the first story, on a 2.92-acre parcel within the Resource Management District in the unincorporated North Skyline area of San Mateo County. The parcel is located along Skyline Boulevard, south of California State Route 92 (CA-92), north of Tunitas Creek Road and within the designated Skyline Boulevard State Scenic Corridor. The proposed residence will be located towards the front of the property, setback 50 ft from the front property line, which coincides with the edge of the Skyline Boulevard right-of-way. The proposal also includes a new septic system, pedestrian pathway and water storage tank. An existing driveway access onto the property will be expanded to the new residence and lined with new 4-ft. retaining walls to match existing retaining walls on the property. The project involves a total of 1,145 cubic yards of grading (606 cubic yards of cut and 539 cubic yards of fill) and the removal of 27 Douglas fir trees, 23 of which are 12 inches or more in diameter. The immediate surroundings of the property are developed with existing residences. However, the overall surrounding area consists of open space preserves and county and regional parkland, including Burleigh Murray Ranch State Park, Purisima Creek Redwoods Regional Open Space and Huddart County Park.
