Document Description
The project is limited to the replacement of an existing storm drain system beneath approximately 4,000 feet of Bond Road to increase system capacity. The project will utilize the existing storm drain trunkline in conjunction with a new parallel system. Additionally, the project will replace the upstream pipe segment of the existing system with a 30-inch diameter pipe to provide consistent sizing with the Elliot Springs connection.
To support the larger diameter storm drain outfall pipe, the existing headwall and pipe outfall discharging into Laguna Creek will be replaced with a new, larger, cast-in-place outfall structure. Class II rock slope protection (RSP) will be placed near the headwall as it flows into Laguna Creek to reduce erosion near the outfall structure.
Construction of the outfall structure will require local dewatering and will likely consist of a temporary bladder dam or coffer dam that will be removed following the completion of construction activities.
