Document Description
The City developed the Citywide comprehensive SDMP by establishing goals, strategies, and solutions for its drainage conveyance and flood control system to meet current and future demands. The City's primary goals for developing this SDMP are as follows:
" To provide a variety of storm drainage and flood control solutions for upgrading the existing system by identifying and analyzing the existing storm drainage and flood control deficiencies throughout the City;
" To provide a variety of storm drainage and flood control solutions to be implemented in the design and construction of future facilities required to serve the City of build-out of the General Plan;
" To establish criteria for selecting and prioritizing the range of storm drainage and flood control solutions; and
" To utilize this Plan for the potential development of capital drainage fee programs.
The Overall objective of the SDMP was to develop an up-to-date plan with specific key concepts; identify new programs while recognizing and improving existing programs; identify preliminary candidate watershed projects to satisfy current local interests; accommodate changing trends, philosophies, regulations, and standards; ensure maximum effectiveness and cost efficiency; and meet evolving community goals and objectives.
