The proposed project involves the routine maintenance and repairs along the Tule River and Porter Slough to maintain channel capacity as required for flood releases and irrigation deliveries. This includes both the channel cross section and the structures along the channels. Along the channels, ninety-six structures were identified that have the purpose of managing flow, providing erosion control, flow measurement, and/or diverting flow. Each structure is listed in Appendix B. The structures are divided into three main categories: check structures and weirs, turnouts, and earthen dams.
