Document Description
The objective of the proposal test wells is to locate a municipal water well in the Erwin Subunit to meet future demand of existing and future connection. The proposed test wells would provide the DWP with information to assess the quantity and quality of groundwater at each location. The amount of drawdown and potential effect on surrounding wells may also be determined. Is the test results indicated that any are suitable for production well, the DWP will perform a second-tier evaluation of this action based on the procedures outlined in the State CEQA Guidelines, Section 15162 and 15166. The DWP selected proposed test well locations based on a hydrogeologic technical study prepared by Thomas Harder & Company, Groundwater Consulting titled "Analysis of Potential Well Sites."
The proposed project consists of drilling up to five new groundwater wells. Surrounding land uses at all location is low to moderate density residences, except those in the Camp Oaked (Upper Arrastre Creek Drainage), which consists of very low density residential development and open space.
