Under the oversight of the Regional Water Quality Control Board, Los Angeles Region, Paramount Petroleum Corporation (Paramount) is investigating and remediating petroleum hydrocarbon impacts in soil and groundwater at the GX-145 Pipeline Release Area (Site). Paramount proposes pilot tests for the injection of the surfactant Ivey-Sol into groundwater wells and application of multi-phase extraction (MPE) technology in downgradient wells to recover petroleum hydrocarbons. This surfactant is expected to improve recovery of petroleum hydrocarbons in the vadose zone and groundwater.
