Document Description
The Kit Carson Elementary School (School) serves the town of Hanford and neighboring rural areas. Hanford is located in Kings County California, near the Intersection of State Routes 198 and 43, ~ 20 miles west of Visalia (Exhibit 1). In 2007, the School, which obtained potable water from the School's original groundwater wells, was notified by the California Department of Public Health (CDHP) that arsenic levels in their existing wells exceeded safe or permitted levels for drinking water consumption. The proposed project consists of construction of a new water main pipeline (pipeline) and booster pump (station) to carry water from an existing water main operated by the City to the School.
