Document Description
On May 13, 2015, RD1004 approved a land idling transfer of up to 8,250 acre-feet of water to EBMUD, who approved the transfer on April 28, 2015. That water would be made available for transfer from RD1004 by rice land idling to be delivered into the Sacramento River, thence to EBMUD via the Freeport Regional Water Facility (Project). EBMUD recently declared a stage 4 critical drought and the need to use the Freeport Facility to deliver supplemental water to EBMUD's service areas in light of critical emergency drought-induced shortages.
