The proposed project is a Code Amendment to: 1) Establish reasonable accommodations procedures for individuals with disabilities, which include creating an application process for individuals with disabilities to request deviations from the standards established by the City's Development Code; 2) Establish standards for single-room occupancy facilities which will include a zoning district where such facilities are permitted, a definition of SRO units consistent with State law and development standards for this residential use; 3) Identify a zoning district in which emergency shelters are a permitted use; and 4) Identify in the Development Code that transitional and supportive housing are considered a residential use of property, and create definitions for said uses. The code amendment implements the action plan of the City's certified Housing Element.
